Andersen Windows in Sacramento

Andersen is a household name in windows, and its name shows up two ways in Sacramento: Andersen-branded windows sold through dealers and installed by independent contractors, and Renewal by Andersen, the company's own full-service replacement division. This page explains the difference, what Fibrex is, and how to compare quotes. We are not an Andersen dealer, affiliate or authorized installer, and we are not Renewal by Andersen. We connect you with an independent, licensed installer, who may or may not carry Andersen products.

Andersen windows vs Renewal by Andersen

These are easy to mix up, and the difference changes how you shop.

With Renewal by Andersen, one company handles the product, the sale and the installation. With Andersen-branded windows, you choose a contractor who buys the windows through a dealer and installs them, so you can compare several contractors quoting the same series.

We are not Renewal by Andersen, and we are not an Andersen dealer, affiliate or authorized installer. If you want a Renewal by Andersen quote, contact that company directly. If you want Andersen-branded windows installed by an independent contractor, tell us when you're matched, and ask whether the installer can order the series you want.

What Fibrex is

Fibrex is an Andersen-exclusive composite made from wood fiber and thermoplastic polymer. Andersen uses it for the 100 Series windows and doors, and Renewal by Andersen uses it for its replacement windows.

Andersen's own claims for Fibrex: it is "2x stronger than vinyl," more affordable than fiberglass, and never needs painting. Those are manufacturer statements, so weigh them alongside the warranty terms and a look at the actual window. In a stucco house, Fibrex sits between vinyl and fiberglass as a frame option: see vinyl windows and fiberglass windows for the other two.

The Andersen 100 Series

The 100 Series is Andersen's Fibrex line of windows and patio doors. Andersen positions Fibrex as more affordable than fiberglass. Andersen also sells the 400 Series and other lines through dealers; ask the installer for current specifications, since we haven't verified details for those series here.

Like any brand, the series comes in common styles such as double-hung, sliders, casements and picture units. Ask for the spec sheet on the exact unit quoted, including size limits and the glass package.

Andersen and Title 24 in Sacramento

Any replacement window installed in 2026 in Climate Zones 11 and 12 must meet the 2025 Title 24 limits: U-factor 0.27 or lower and SHGC 0.23 or lower. Jobs that replace 75 sq ft of glass or less may use U-0.40 and SHGC-0.35. Glass-only and sash-only work counts as a repair.

The frame material doesn't decide compliance on its own; the glass package does most of the work. Check the NFRC label values on any quote. A low SHGC helps most on west-facing glass that bakes on hot summer afternoons before the delta breeze arrives in the evening.

What Andersen windows cost

No Andersen price list was found. National cost guides give these ranges by material, installed, per window. No Sacramento-specific price data was found.

Frame materialNational range per window (Fixr)
Composite (Fibrex is a composite)$300–$2,500
Vinyl, for comparison$350–$800
Fiberglass, for comparison$400–$1,500
Wood, for comparison$600–$2,000

A full-service retailer's quote bundles the product, sales process and installation, so compare it on total project price, not per-window list price. More detail is in window replacement cost in Sacramento.

Comparing Andersen quotes

  1. Confirm which product it is: Andersen 100 Series, another Andersen series, or a Renewal by Andersen window.
  2. Get the NFRC U-factor and SHGC for each window in writing.
  3. Ask whether it's a retrofit or full-frame install.
  4. Ask how warranty claims are handled and get the installer's workmanship warranty in writing.
  5. Check the installer's C-17 (or B) license at cslb.ca.gov.
  6. Remember California law allows a deposit of no more than 10% of the price or $1,000, whichever is smaller.
