Milgard Windows in Sacramento

Milgard is one of the window brands Sacramento homeowners ask about most. This page explains the main Milgard product lines, what the warranty covers, how the windows fit California's energy code and what national guides say vinyl and fiberglass windows cost. We are not a Milgard dealer, affiliate or authorized installer. We connect you with an independent, licensed installer, and you can ask them whether they carry Milgard or can quote it alongside other brands.

Who makes Milgard windows

Milgard is owned by MI Windows and Doors, which now sits under the parent company Miter Brands. Milgard windows reach homeowners through dealers and contractors, so the company that measures and installs your windows is a separate business from the manufacturer.

We are not a Milgard dealer, affiliate or authorized installer. Installers in our network may or may not carry Milgard. If the brand matters to you, say so when you're matched, and ask the installer which lines they can order.

Across its lines Milgard makes common operating styles such as sliding, hung, casement and picture units. Which styles, sizes and colors each line offers changes over time, so check the current Milgard catalog or ask the installer for the spec sheet on the exact window being quoted.

Vinyl or fiberglass?

Vinyl lines cost less and need no painting. Fiberglass is stiffer and moves less with heat, which helps on large openings and darker frame colors that sit in afternoon sun. Compare the two on our vinyl windows and fiberglass windows pages.

The Milgard Full Lifetime Warranty

According to Milgard's warranty page, the Full Lifetime Warranty covers Tuscany (V400) and Trinsic (V300) windows, and it covers labor as well as parts. Tuscany's coverage also includes glass breakage.

Warranty terms change and have conditions, so read the current document for the product you're buying. Two practical points: the manufacturer's warranty covers the window, while the installer's workmanship warranty covers leaks and fit problems from the install. Ask for both in writing.

Milgard and Title 24 in Sacramento

Whatever the brand, a replacement window installed in 2026 in Climate Zones 11 and 12 must meet the 2025 Title 24 limits: U-factor 0.27 or lower and SHGC 0.23 or lower. Jobs replacing 75 sq ft of glass or less may use U-0.40 and SHGC-0.35.

Not every glass package in a line hits 0.27 / 0.23, so the glass option matters as much as the frame. Check the NFRC label figures on the quote. A low SHGC is especially useful on west-facing windows that take hot summer afternoon sun. Ask the installer to walk you through both numbers.

What Milgard windows cost

No published Milgard price list was found, and pricing runs through dealers. National cost guides give these ranges by frame material, installed, per window. No Sacramento-specific price data was found.

Frame materialNational range per window (Fixr)
Vinyl$350–$800
Fiberglass$400–$1,500

Size, style, glass package, color and install method (retrofit or full-frame) all move the number. For more on pricing, see window replacement cost in Sacramento.

  2. What are the NFRC U-factor and SHGC for the glass package quoted?
  3. Is this a retrofit or full-frame install, and how will the stucco edge be finished?
  4. Who handles a warranty claim: you, or Milgard directly?
  5. What is your own workmanship warranty, in writing?
  6. What is your C-17 (or B) license number? Check it at cslb.ca.gov.

FAQ

Milgard Windows: Common Questions

Are you a Milgard dealer?

No. We are not a Milgard dealer, affiliate or authorized installer. We connect you with an independent, licensed installer, who may or may not carry Milgard.

What is the difference between Milgard Tuscany and Trinsic?

Both are vinyl. Tuscany (V400) is Milgard's flagship vinyl line; Trinsic (V300) is its contemporary vinyl line. Both are covered by the Full Lifetime Warranty per Milgard.

Does the Milgard warranty cover labor?

Milgard's warranty page says the Full Lifetime Warranty on Tuscany and Trinsic covers labor as well as parts, and Tuscany adds glass breakage. Read the current terms for your product.

Is Milgard Ultra vinyl or fiberglass?

Ultra is Milgard's fiberglass line. Fiberglass is stiffer than vinyl and costs more; Fixr puts fiberglass windows at $400–$1,500 installed nationally.

Do Milgard windows meet Title 24?

It depends on the glass package. In the Sacramento area a 2026 replacement needs U-0.27 and SHGC-0.23 (or 0.40 / 0.35 for jobs of 75 sq ft or less). Check the NFRC label on the quoted unit.
